New, New Bulk or Refurbished? Understanding our Product Conditions

At Kimbrer Computer, we carry a wide range of both new and refurbished hardware and networking equipment. Some of our inventory is brand new, some is used and some products has been resold without being used.

In this guide, we will walk you through the terms to help you better understand your options so that you can make a well-informed decision when buying your hardware and networking equipment at Kimbrer Computer.

What does 'New Sealed' mean?

Yes, you got it right! A New Sealed - or New Retail - product is exactly what it sounds like; a brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in its original factory sealed packaging, unless otherwise stated on the product page or in writing. New Sealed products are warranted for the remainder of the manufacturer’s original warranty or a 1-year extended warranty from Kimbrer Computer. All original parts and accessories (if applicable) are included.

What does 'New Bulk' mean?

When buying a new New Bulk product at Kimbrer Computer, you’ll get a new, unused item without its original retail packaging - or with differences in the packaging design. New Bulk products could be pulled from a common inventory that was dismantled for parts. Usually, these items are covered by a 1-year warranty, although the specific time period may vary from product to product. Originally components or accessories may or may not be included.

What does 'New Open Box' mean?

All of our New Open Box items are often demonstration units, customer returns or cancelled orders. The manufacturer’s seal has been broken for a certain reason, and the packaging may sometimes show some signs of wear and tear, but the item itself is a brand-new, unused product in perfect working and cosmetic condition.

New Open Box items carry a 1-year warranty starting from the date of purchase, unless otherwise stated, and come with original retail packaging. All original parts and accessories are included.

What does 'Refurbished' mean?

Occasionally, used and pre-owned equipment requires minor repairs or cosmetic improvement, and is then marked as “Refurbished”. Refurbished products from Kimbrer Computer have been professionally cleaned, tested and restored by our certified technicians to make sure they're in excellent working and cosmetic condition.

A refurbished product sold by Kimbrer Computer is nearly indistinguishable from a new product, aside from the packaging. The item may have minor blemishes or cosmetic scratches and may come with or without manuals and non-basic components (e.g cables, manuals, accessories). Except as otherwise agreed in writing, refurbished hardware is always subject to a standard 90-day warranty.

Each and every refurbished product is properly and carefully packaged and shipped in plain, non-retail (pallet) boxes, with all items placed in ESD materials to help protect sensitive electronic parts from electrostatic discharge and physical damage during transportation.

What does 'Spare' mean?

The term “Spare” is referred to used and manufacturer refurbished IBM maintenance parts and replacements such as disk drives, tape components, cables, power supplies, switches and everything in between.

IBM spares are supported with a 1-year warranty and come in original retail packaging.

What does 'Renew' mean?

Renew (or manufacturer refurbished) is a portfolio of refurbished HPE products that are subject to HP’s own quality control. The products are typically factory surplus equipment, or returned demos that just can’t be sold as brand new anymore. HP products undergo an extensive HP refurbishment and testing process, ensuring they are fully restored to meet HP certified standards.

All HP Renew products are covered with a full same-as-new HP warranty, normally for a period of up to one year, and come in original manufacturer packaging with all essential accessories included.
